Charter Public School
Our Mission, Focus & Approach
The mission of the academy is to create a deep, persistent and abiding desire for a lifetime of learning. Through the Montessori philosophy the academy will assist each child in reaching his/her full potential in a caring and respectful, educational environment.
The vision of AMA is to provide learning activities that are individualized and geared to specific readiness levels; helping each child develop independence through activities that build upon previously acquired knowledge; assisting each child in developing attention, concentration skills, and a love of learning
We offer thoughtfully prepared classrooms filled with hands on learning materials with State and Montessori Certified Teachers.
• Blocks of work time which support and encourage children to learn at their own pace.
• Montessori differentiated curriculum in individual, small group, and whole group lessons.
• A safe, caring, inclusive, and nurturing environment which supports diversity, intrinsic motivation, and discipline within each child.
The top priority for our students is for them to grow academically, socially, and emotionally in an atmosphere that is stimulating and adaptive to their diverse needs. We ensure students leave inspired to return each day by making sure children are able to learn at their own pace and develop a life-long love of learning.
Parents choose our school for the individualized instruction and the safe and nurturing environment. Parent involvement includes volunteering in the classrooms and on field trips. We also have our AMFO, which is our family organization.
We foster student growth through individualized or small group instruction. We have instructional aides to work with students who may require additional assistance. We also use the RTI model.
